There are many monitoring requirements for extreme modern structures such as bridges for:
Currently, for the monitoring of all of the above mentioned movement or displacement of these structures is used GPS system.
Why to use our fiber optic acceleration and vibration sensors for this type of monitoring instead of GPS? Or how about using both monitoring systems simultaneously?
We are of the general believe, that the more different methods for measurement of the same thing are used the better, as one has the ability to compare at least two measurement results and thus to get much bigger assurance in the correctness of the measurement results.
With our fiber optic acceleration and vibration measurement sensors we can measure with any level of sensitivity in real time horizontal movement of the bridge, tilt of the bridge, horizontal as well as vertical vibrations, rotation (around X axes – traffic direction).
We would be very interested in finding a partner to implement and to test our sensing equipment in these applications and compare them with GPS measurement.
