We have developed and patented this mechanical housing and locking system especially for our own fiber optic sensor products in many different applications. According to our experience with it, we found out, that its very simple construct and handling could be useful for housings of many other different products in various applications. In this housing system we are using fiber optic SC connectors as back plane connectors as they are very convenient and at the same time provide for secure optical connection suitable in many applications.
Even though this mechanical housing and locking system was developed for fiber optic SC connectors, it can be easily adjusted for any other type of back plane optical and/or electrical connectors especially for harsh environment applications.
