Racing cars can take advantage of our very precise acceleration/deceleration sensors in that they can measure acceleration/deceleration limits of these cars.
Linear acceleration sensor can be utilized by the racing car industry as follow:
Given certain surface of the racing track and type of wheels a driver will accelerate so, that at least at one point of acceleration the wheels will start to slip. Just before this slipping the acceleration sensor will record the highest value of acceleration possible and store it in its memory. Then the driver and his technical team can start to work on how to implement this sensor measurement result of highest possible acceleration into the driver’s assistance tool.
Centripetal acceleration sensor is used in a similar way as the linear acceleration sensor. A driver will go into a curve so, that at least at one point the car’s wheels will slip. Just before slippage a sensor will record the highest level possible for centripetal acceleration given the wheels and the road surface type. Then the driver and his technical team can start to work on how to implement this sensor measurement result of highest possible centripetal acceleration into the driver’s assistance tool.
Braking or linear deceleration sensor is utilized the same way as the acceleration sensor. At certain speed of a car a driver will manually step on brakes so, that at least at one point of braking a car will start to slip. Just before that slipping point a deceleration sensor will record the highest deceleration level possible. Then the driver and his technical team can start to work on how to implement this sensor measurement result of highest possible deceleration into the driver’s assistance tool. Please note, that in the ABS system at any time at least one wheel has to be left to run loose in order to see if the slipping of wheels is occuring. In our system all wheels can be engaged in braking as the sensor will let the drive know, that sudden drop in braking deceleration caused slippage of at least one wheel.
Simultanous use of linear and centripetal acceleration/deceleration sensors can be used in racing car industry for automated optimization process for handling racing cars during turning.
We would very much welcome the opportunity to try our fiber optic acceleration/deceleration sensors in any type of above mentioned applications.
