Biological Sensor

In the video you can see our unique fiber optic bio detection system through which we are establishing a fundamental breakthrough in detection of biologically active substances and of biological processes. We are the first in the world to develop this technology based on an unprecedented measurement effect. The light power, guided by a specially modified optical fiber, immensely increases, when it is submerged into higher refraction index environment (from air to liquid) – which runs contrary to the so far common experience. In more detail, in this video you can see a detection of optically active substance such as isopropylalcohol. At the beginning of the video, when the sensing head is surrounded by the air, you can see the value on power meter to be “LO”, which is less than -70 dBm (no optical power is detected). The value on power meter rises to about -11 dBm after submerging the sensing head into the isopropylalcohol. When the isopropylalcohol evaporates from the sensing head, the value on power meter drops back to “LO” (in the video the power meter fell into sleeping mode, so that the last seen value on the power meter is -41 dBm).
